In looking through the threads, I have been unable to find a similar topic. Perhaps I'm blind? Anyway I notice BOINC takes into account multiple CPU's during initialization. I currently run World Community Grid (WCG) client on multiple computers relatively happily; but I have built a new machine that has 4 cores across 2 cpus. The WCG client apparently does not support this sort of hardware configuration, and it will simply run as if on a single core cpu (I have learned this in forums). If I use the BOINC client to participate in the WCG effort, will it allow full usage of this hardware configuration? Thanks in advance for your input. |

Yes it will. You will need to set the global preference for number of CPUs large enough to allow this though, the default is 1 or 2. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |
