hello there, this may be a silly question. I have a rig with Ubuntu and two spare discrete gpu cards (AMD HD 5450 pcie and Nvidia gt 430 PLAIN-PCI) Now here's the thing I wanna get them all to work together so I can not have to feel guilty for having a spare gpu lying around thats not doing SCIENCE. oddly enough, I have been able to install ubuntu with both cards plugged in... but only wile using the X.org drivers. As soon as I install one or both flavors of drivers then it gets a bit unstable and does that "low graphics mode"-thingy. (as you can tell, I am new to linux) is there any way I could disable one of the cards and use it only for crunching things (preferably the AMD card)? - I know this sounds ridiculous, but hey, SCIENCE Also, I realize this may not be completely relevant to boinc since its more hardware/ubuntu based question. if there is another forum I could go to that anyone knows of to get better advice on this then I'd love to know. Thanks |

If I'm deciphering the search results right, it's not going to be easy. You might have better luck at Ubuntu Forums or AskUbuntu. |
