Hello everybody, Sorry if my question was already done but I couldn't find any answer. I use daily Windows and Linux and I was wondering whether it is possible to share a common directory in order for calculations to be done whatever OS I used, it would be far quicker than having specific calculations for each OS. Is that possible? If yes, how? Thanks a lot in advance :) |

Not with climateprediction at any rate. The file structures are different. |

It's not possible. At any time the computer which downloads the results, must also upload these results. To establish this computers got a hostID, under which it says which CPU you have, how much RAM and most importantly, which operating system you use. So your one host has two hostIDs. One for the Windows part of the machine and one for the Linux part of the machine. You can't merge them on the project's sites and you can't crunch the same results, because as far as the project sees it, you have two different computers. |
