I just setup my new nVidia Geforce GT520 card and set GPUGRID to work on it but i got a WU that will take 48 hours ! and they expect it done by the 4th of fed !!! I'll never do it ? it says that it is running high priority, well I don't care what priority it is if my PC is not going to have enough time to compute it I'm wasting processing time that could go elsewhere. It was at 1.5% this morning when i shut down but now is back at 0.7% and the time until finish is not exactly going down as fast as the time taken goes up. Should i just abort ? and find something smaller. it is a 1'000'000 GFLOP WU |

oh and just to clarify I've set it up to run on the GPU while the pc is in use, I'm not sure how much spare resource there is after running one monitor ? |

With competition between u wanting your screen updated mousing around and computing in background, yes that's bound to slow it down. Default is to let GPU jobs run when system idle [and no screensaver]. Mind you there capable cards that can do this. Sinc it's your first exposure, a little trial and error, and patience is needed, so you learn if it can do the job in time or not. --//-- |

As always, ask project specific information (task run time length is one of those) at the project. It's nearly impossible for any of us to answer this. |

ok maybe I need to look for another project to help. The annoying thing is that boinc started the task from the beginning twice, I've now dumped it. |
