The wish list page contains these two items:

Java support: core client checks for the existence of JVM, reports version to scheduler. Write Java wrapper (runs JVM, gives it jar files). Note: Sztaki has already done some part of this.
    •Same, .NET

I understand why the Java one is needed. But .Net programs are just exe files and all the magic is done by the Windows program loader.

Would someone please explain what the .Net wrapper would do?

Now, if you anticipate people writing BOINC apps in .Net, it might be helpful to have a .Net wrapper for the BOINC api. I would gladly undertake either of these two tasks.

For .NET you wouldn't need a wrapper, like you say.
But we'd still need to have the BOINC client detect
whether the .NET library exists on the host,
and report it to the server.

This is a moot point until some project wants to write an app
using .NET, which may never happen.
