I have this as a consistant error. I've just upgraded to 5.10 in the hope that it would fix the problem, it has not.

I'm running BOINC on a Duo Core 2 Vista Home Premium.

My only work round is to always hibernate, and only run from projects with short work units, as there are times when I must reboot.

Has anyone else hit this? Is there an increase in the number of failed work units?

It's a problem with the fast shutdown of Vista. To work around it, either shut down BOINC manually before you reboot, or use the time-out registry entry in this FAQ
