Since updating MYCROFT my fairly new iMac Intel I5 to Big Sur 11.3.1 the einstein@home tasks show running but the progress percentage is not changing. It was working under 11.2.*

Also my event log is full of:

Fri May 7 12:08:56 2021 | Einstein@Home | [app_msg_receive] got msg from slot 2: <current_cpu_time>6.384228e+03</current_cpu_time><checkpoint_cpu_time>6.384204e+03</checkpoint_cpu_time>

I'm sot sure if the two are connected.

Oddly the Apple M1 mac mini under 11.3.1 is running fine.

What is cpu usage? If tasks are not progressing that is always the first thing I check.

I finally reset the project and the stuck three were gone and the new ones took off OK. I could not find another way to get the original three to get processed. This has not happened to me before.

Hasn't happened to me before either though I have seen others report it across all operating systems. I can't remember if any found a cause. A long time ago I have had tasks go into a loop and get stuck but in those cases there would be progress and it would then jump backwards so a different problem.

It happens fro time to time, particularly if a project uses a random, or pseudo-random number as a seed to start a calculation, or if the task dataset is such that an endless loop ca be entered. Strange to see more than the odd one, but it could happen.
There is no way for you to get those three tasks back, as they will have been marked as "failed on this computer" and will be passed onto other people to run.

I know. It's sad as they were about 89% done when this happened.
