I am running BOINC version 7.8.3 on Windows 10. I have BIONC installed as a service. Can I use a GPU or is there still a restriction on BOINC not being installed as a service? |

The restriction is one that comes from the way Windows manages a GPU for any program is running as a service. Basically anything running as a service does not have full access to the "normal" GPU drivers, thus it is not BOINC that is preventing the use of the GPU but the operating system. |

It still says this in the installer: "Run applications under a privileged account. This provides increased protection from faulty applications, and on Windows, it will prevent the use of applications that use the graphics chip (GPU)." |

To run it not as a service can I just set the service to manual and then run it by clicking on the executable or do I need to uninstall and reinstall? Thanks |

You'll need to uninstall & reinstall. |
