hi :)

i've got a new graphics card a few weeeks ago and instantly tried boinc with einstein@home. it worked pretty good for a while but now i have a problem: my screens turn black for a few seconds and turn back on than with a speach bubble in the bottom right corner saying that my display drivers crashed and got restored. i dont know why and when my computer does that but here is my quetion: what can i do againt it?

my system:
intel xeon X5260 (2 cores, 4 threads, 3,33 GHz)
gigabyte r9 390 gaming g1 graphics card (not overclocked)
with 2 screens connected
my hard drive ist nearly full (33,7 GB free, free for boinc: 33,68GB)
using windows 7 professional

boinc is allowed to use 50% of my cpu (sometimes 75% but even than the problem is showing) and i've set einstein@home up to use 0.16 GPUs per task (with 0.5 cpus, wich was preset). i've done this because one task did only use the gpu at maxmimum to 50% and not all the time.

The only options I think you have is trying different drivers until you find one that's sturdy enough and doesn't crash, or not use the GPU for calculations.

There is a slight possibility it's a power supply unit issue, where the PSU isn't strong enough to power the whole system. Do you know what brand, model and strength PSU you have?

There is some talk over at E@H that R9 290/390 cards or drivers can't do multiple tasks at a time. See here and here.

my psu is a 1000w one, it should be able to handle. but the graphicscard needs 2 8 pins and i only had one 8 pin and one 6 pin. so i bought an adapter from 6 to 8 and used it

@juha thanks, but if i see right there isnt a real solve. there is just written that you should turn the Parkes PMPS XT off. what i did now, but im not sure, it will help
