Yes, but I wouldn't recomend it. Flash drive technology is such that it will only allow so many writes to the drive before it will go bad. Boinc and its science apps write data quite often, so I wouldn't recomend it. |

I have been running for over a month with boinc on a flash drive. I'm using a OZC Mini Kart 2gig flash drive. Reformatted to FAT32.I'll let you know when it burns out. |

The limit used to be two million writes on the same bit, don't know if it's got better (or worse) recently. There is an alternative to flash drivers which is battery-backed up DDR/DDR2 ram. More expensive, if the battery goes so does it's contents, but on the other hand it's faster and doesn't wear out. |

It's silent of course which would be another positive effect - but 1000 EUR for a 4GB solid state HD is somehow a bit much for a hobby. ��u� |
