Ya know, Chris... For once, I just don't give a carp's cry what you or anybody else thinks. I am what I am, and if that don't suit anybody else among the thousands of other Boinc users, so be it. It just don't cut much cake with me anymore. I am ME. My own man. Have been a unique individual since January 18th, 1957. I am not about to change much at the age of 57. I have 3 cats that love me regardless. Lori, sometimes. The rest of you can just take a walk in the park and condsider just what I do or do not mean to yourselves, the project, and Boinc in general. I have give my all to you and the project. If my demeanor does not suit any of you amonsgt the hundreds of thousands of Seti participants, my work, my life, my cats, and all the other reasons that I walk this earth.... \ Take that walk Chris, and the rest of you as well. You are dealing with a rather known quantity here. I am as predictable as the weather. At any given point, I can diverge in a thousand different directions. And that, my friend, is a very good thing. It is my thing to surprise, shock, and shudder with all of you. Even I do not know exactly what twist or turn will take me next. I know where I am going now.... Hmmm.......Mmmm, Sweet Nothings. It really would have been a different cut if I'd had my say in the studio that day back then.... But even the kittyman cannot rewrite history. Wanda was just as headstrong as I was then.... And those of us who recognize that in each other just butt heads and go on. Best the rest of you do as well. |

You should hear this. It might give you a bit more history I where I come from. There were a long list of gurl musicians that we pioneered. Blazed trails that nobody had dared. My favorite quote from the JJ movie was.... 'Gurls don't play rock and roll' That was years after this stuff, and I took that to the bank. This predated Joan by several years. |

Now, if you please or don't...... Here is a find. Things like this are few and far between, even for me. Faith Hill is so amazingly beautiful, she is just stunning.... |

And another bit of footage that one does not see much...... Early stuff before Elvis hit the big time. 8mm cams were more abundant in that day than many realize. Not quite the same as cam phones today, but much more present than you know. |

I was just enlightened to this cut by a passing youtube poster. The Wanda Jackson/Brenda Lee thingy.... This was one of Brenda's last chart hits. Broken Trust. |

And here I share with you a wonderful Willie Nelson song I never heard before. And that is a bit hard to imagine for me, because I search his songs on a regular basis. I never cared for you.......... |

This album is a must hear for any Emmylou fan. She always makes me cry with her easy and immense talent and beauty. But ladies like her were always my soft spot. Lori is such a lady. I have been far too distant from her as of late. Time I get back to what others refer to as reality. I really do require the time I spend in lost land. I do. I would have broken my contact with all reality long ago if not for what I do here on weekends. Friends, I do need my 'fantasy time'... It lets me spread my wings and breath. I don't think I do so at the expense of others, for there are filters that allow those who disbelieve to disconnect me at will. I am sure many have, and that does not hurt me at all. If the words I post here fall on empty ears, so be it. It detracts nothing from the heartfelt emotions I post. They are the same if nobody reads them. I'll get up in the morning, face myself in the mirror, and go on off to do my day's work. It is what I do. Every day for the last 57 years before. About a quarter of my life I have given to Seti. I have tossed about 3 grand a year in electricity costs at it. If it is not significant to you, it certainly had been to me. I drive a 1990 Olds Ciera. Yup, a 25 yo car. I could undoubtably could be driving a BMW, but it would not get me to work and back again any more efficiently. And I love old school. I know every nut and bolt on that old car and he serves me well.....only still about 65k on it. This is my life. Strange to some, but accustomed to it I am. Not an unworthy life, I think. If you differ, I can accept that also. Mine has been an exceptional life, from it's beginning to wherever it ends. I thank the Lord above for every second of it. He has granted me so much and every breath. I have shared so much of it with you here, and if you don't embrace it with the same aplomb that I do, my position is it is your loss, not mine. I share, and shall continue to do so as allowed. It is up to you as to whether you wish to participate in my life or not. |

And the point is, you cannot prove or disprove any thing I post. Any word could be true or untrue. It takes trust to admit to what I have posted. I get wild and lost, and I only ask you to follow if you wish to. Is that so hard? I shall try to sort some fact from fiction if you wish. Ask me. For now...another moment I share. This should knock your socks off Meow!!! |

A wonderful bit on 60 Minutes on the revered maestro James Levine. One of the last interview pieces done by Bob Simon before he passed away in a car crash just weeks ago. James Levine Courtesy of CBS News. |

My favorite rock/blues album of all time. Jerome Geils Band. J.Geils Band. One of the hottest live shows in the genre ever recorded. I wore out a few copies, still have the first one I bought on VINYL. Yeah, the V-word. The harp player's name was Magic Dick. And there were a billion double entendres' tossed out about that one.. But it was his stage name at the time. Listen if you like, my favorite is 'Serves you Right to Suffer'. If you do not have the patience, or if this does not hit you in the gut from the get go, do me a favor and kick the slider over to about 16:40...the second half of the album. Serves you Right. Geil's guitar on that one will leave you wet. In your armpits and other places you won't admit publicly, gurlz. From Detroit, USA. The J. Geils Band....'Full House' album. |
