I am running Einstein@Home. Some of my task report back, after 100% completion in the Status column' BOINC states "Computation error" in the Statistics column. Will BOINC handle this by running the task again at some point? I did not see any means to do so manually and the task is frozen with the elapsed time at 5 seconds in this current instance.

Work that has a computation error on your system will be returned and reported to the server, after which it's sent to another computer for it to try its luck on the task. It won't ever get back onto your computer.

However, you best check in your account at Einstein, and click on the task details of one of those tasks with a computation error, to see what's causing it. Each task you fail to return correctly diminishes your allowed cache at that project with one task, all the way until your BOINC can only get 1 task per hardware instance per 24 hours. As there's really no use in sending work to a host that isn't able to correctly work it anyway.

Are you saying that if my CPU / GPU miscalculates something and uploads it, that I'm punished for sending invalid work in? Nor am I notified that my calculates are incorrect more often after a possible recent change to my system?

Not so much a punishment as protection for the project against an unattended rogue computer producing a bunch of errors month after month. It happens!!!
You should look at your account from time to time to ensure you're producing valid results.

Seems I am. However I can't do work for a while as my CPU fan died. :P Boinc can't do the things I want it to. :/
