I have a small network (2 linux computers) sharing their /home directory. I can run boinc on either one or the other, but not both. Yet that seems a logical thing to do when both computers are switched on. How do I do this? |

You cannot. For how can BOINC at that moment know which computer is crunching a certain result? For all you know, they are both trying to crunch the same result at the same time (impossible due to the lockfile). |

Simply by having one lockfile per WU, for example. Or you could run one manager capable of spreading WU other machine(s). How do other people do this? I can't believe I am the only one with more than one machine at home willing to run boinc. |

Boinc can't use the same directory more than once. You need to either run boinc from two different directories (one on each computer), or use the command line option -dir <path> on the second computer to specify a different directory for boinc to use. |
