For example, in a spreadsheet, the count of cells, rows, or columns selected is generally shown in the bottom right-hand corner. This functionality would be extremely useful for managing tasks in BM. Most of my computers have 2 cores each, so it's easy to manage the tasks, because one can see at a glance in BM how the two cores are being used. One of my computers has 2 processors x 8 cores each = 16 cores, which shows as 32 cores with virtualisation. That makes the following tasks more difficult and unreliable: 1. Checking that 32 tasks are running; 2. Selecting and pausing running tasks before closing BM and tasks (which I have started doing because I found that without pausing the tasks first, I would often get a Computation error); and 3. Ensuring that my preferred individual tasks are running at any one time (and Suspending the others). This problem will become more pronounced as the number of cores increases. Processors with 12 cores each are now readily available. |
