Hi BOINC volunteers,

We are a fairly new project that has been running for about 3 years or so now. We are an academic group located in Université de Sherbrooke (Québec, Canada) and NRG stands for Najmanovich Research Group. Our project is already listed on BOINCstats: http://boincstats.com/en/stats/126/user/list/.

As some of you may already know, we are mostly interested into drug design. We have been developing FlexAID, a method that allows to predict if a molecule may act/bind on a particular target. More info on our method can be found here: http://bcb.med.usherbrooke.ca/boinc.php.

We are currently investigating if our method can distinguish between true binders and non-binders. We are doing so for a lot of targets mentioned below [*]. We have nearly a million of tasks to execute and NRG needs your help!

We have had a few issues with FlexAID regarding Computation Errors in the past. However, those were all resolved through the many years of development.

Our method will soon be published in a scientific journal, and we wouldn't be here today if you, BOINC users, have not been there. We are very grateful and thanks a lot for your support.

Francis Gaudreault
Ph.D student & BOINC Administrator

I joined this morning and attached my 4 systems. Right now they are full of docking@home work but that project ended a couple of days ago and is not handing out new work (and stopped accepting completed work although they said they would for the next few weeks.) Came across this project and since I prefer life science projects I thought I'd give it a try. So I signed up this morning. I checked the website just now and see I've already been named user of the day! Cool. I guess I'll have to stick around.

You might want to raise the limit on the number of tasks in progress and lengthen the reporting deadline to make the project a bit more like nearly every other BOINC project out there :)

Cheers,

Al.

I suggest fixing your messaging service so people can send you PM's. Currently if you click on Send Message from the forums, it goes to a blank page. Also, if you try to report an offensive post you get Report NOT registered

Your report could not be recorded. Please wait a short while and try again.

If this is not a temporary error, please report it to the project developers.

Having a nicely working forum for people to communicate in effectively is critical for many users. These issues have been happening at your project for years. I'm surprised they haven't been addressed yet.

I attached NRG with one of my C2D machines and it's working great for me. Since the machine I tested it on is running several projects and keeps about 1.25 days of work, some of the workunits from NRG are running in high priority mode. You might want to add another day to the deadline unless you need them very quickly for some reason. I'll start adding NRG to the other projects on some of my dedicated C2Q Q6600 crunchers.

For those who are interested, I haven't gotten ANY errors from the workunits. Well done.

I increased the delay to 3 days instead of 2.
