Since 2012, BOINC has been working with HTC - one of the world's leading smartphone manufacturers - to bring volunteer computing to Android devices. On February 24th we'll release an exciting result of this partnership - stay tuned! It's a shame that while Boinc works fine on my HTC One S, finding project applications that work on it reliably is proving very difficult: http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/results.php?hostid=63394 http://www.primegrid.com/results.php?hostid=417716 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=69176 The only bright points is Albertathome's latest NEON app now does validate, rather than produce validate errors: https://albert.phys.uwm.edu/results.php?hostid=9756 Claggy |

Did you also see that SIMAP has been working with Samsung to the same end - except this time including the project application, too? Many smartphones are a supercomputer! http://www.samsung.com/at/microsite/powersleep/ |

SIMAP also supports Android devices running the native BOINC client simap 5.01 for Android stable The Powersleep app is just a wrapper around the native BOINC client. Seen from the server side, there's no difference at all between native Android clients and Power Sleep clients. Cheers Thomas |
