Hello, I am having a problem, the BOINC manager works well but when I click in "tasks" + "show graphics" nothing happens. I am running Debian Jessie 64, Kernel 3.12.6, my VGA card is 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Trinity [Radeon HD 7640G] I have the latest drivers of my card and even high demanding graphics games in steam works fine. Any advice? |

Hi, can you say which project/application you try to show the graphics for? I also run Jessie but have no graphic enabled applications/projects. It should not be an issue with your graphics card as the graphics are very simple and come from the application. Did you install BOINC by downloading from boinc.berkeley.edu or via Package manager (apt-get) from the official Debian repository? |

I'm going to guess missing libraries. Open terminal, go to [BOINC-data-dir]/projects/[troublesome-project] and type ldd [graphics-app] Replace [graphics-app] with the name of the graphics app. The name usually contains the word "graphics". If ldd says not found/missing/whatever it says, install the missing library. Depending on the project you may need to create some links. |
