I had been signed up to World Community Grid since 2010 on Help Conquer Cancer. When that ended, my trusty G4 Macs could find no more work there. They let me know that PowerPC was unfortunately no longer supported. Can anyone who knows of Power PC compatible projects respond? TIA |

You can try the following page: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php Look to the right to see if Mac is supported, then open the link on the right to the project homepage and look for a link to applications. The first project ABC@Home has the following for their application page: http://abcathome.com/apps.php If you can't find a link to applications on the project's homepage, just try appending /apps.php at the end of the homepage url. If a project that interests you lists MAC/PowerPC, try attaching to the project to see if your machine can get work. |

I made a long list of projects and listed most of the types of cpu's and gpu's they supported here. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1801908 |

WUprop can also give you a current listing of projects (and subprojects) that support PowerPC: http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/delai.py?plateforme=mac_ppc&tri=projet&sort=asc&min=&max= Unfortunately, at this time it is only 8. I still have a few PowerPC hosts that see action from time to time, will be a shame when the day inevitably comes when I cannot do any more BOINC crunching on them. My Detailed BOINC Stats ![]() |
