I am running a dual boot machine (both WinXP). I currently only have BOINC installed on one installation.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to install BOINC on the second installation, but have it use the same WU's, so that when I change between partitions, the system simply picks up from where the other installation left off.

Thanks,
Adrian

Not possible...

The reason is that Boinc will consider it as a separate computer. WU can only be downloaded, processed and returned by the same system.

Jim and Aurora,

Not sure that you are correct, unless something has change in BOINC. Last year I was testing and authoring the maintenance and repair manual for some industrial PCI expansion cards. And I had my old computer set up to boot into Win98se, WinXP pro, Win2000 pro and Win20003 server and it worked fine. It had to be installed so that it always used the same HDD/folder etc.

Thanks for this one Andy. I figured I'd give it a go, and it works just fine. I can now happily BOINC away no matter which installation I've booted from.
