So why keep bumping a dead thread on a dead project?

Again.

Still nothing.

So why keep bumping a dead thread on a dead project?

So it won't autolock.

Hope springs eternal that someday, there will be news of Orbit.

I think it's a spammer, have for the time being removed the post due to the suspect signature.

I let it go longer this time, but this is still just a thread bump so it won't autolock. Nothing new on Pasquale's page.

I looked at his home page and it really looks like he's not done anything at all recently which makes me wonder if Orbit will ever get off the ground.

It would be the ideal replacement for the soon-to-go-defunct SIMAP.

Orbit@Home Revival Imminent?

If by "imminent" you mean the opposite of imminent, then yes...

This is why I call it a dead project. Nothing has changed in several months. Calling it alive simply because an unchanged page says they will be back makes little sense to me. My understanding is that it would not be back until he managed to get the funding he lost again. So, that means each year you have to apply for the grant. If you don't get it, he will probably wait another year. Rinse and repeat.

He doesn't even have the old "expected return" page up anymore

I'll keep checking back, periodically, but really don't expect this project to ever go live again, which is a shame, IMHO

From my understanding, the "return" solely rested on getting the grant that he used to receive. That IIRC is only awarded once a year. So each year it has to be applied for again. So if you don't see it come back for a while... you probably have to wait the entire year for another chance. The thread really should be left to die until it really does show signs of real life. Not just a small "yup we renewed our domain" style posting. Another thread can always be opened at that time. Just my opinion.

It's been like that for a long time. If you click his name, you go to Pasquale's page, but he hasn't said anything about the project for quite a while.

NASA doesn't consider it a big risk, b612 foundation lost it funding, what hope does orbit@home have?:
