A version of BOINC for Android-based mobile devices was released today, and is available in the Google Play store and the Amazon appstore (for Kindle Fire). Six projects now offer Android applications. |

Initial feedback. I had multiple computation errors on WCG and the phone heated up to the point where computation was suspended and I was getting worried. I uninstalled. |

Was going to download the app pronto but you've put me off. I'll wait for a response to your issue! |

Initial feedback. I had multiple computation errors on WCG and the phone heated up to the point where computation was suspended and I was getting worried. I uninstalled. Plz revert to the WCG BOINC support forums. When doing so include how you were running the device... connect to mains [default] or on battery. There was a 'getting hot' post, but that one did say that after upgrading to a later BOINC version the issue went away. Coelum Non Animum Mutant, Qui Trans Mare Currunt |

If possible place the device on a large piece of metal (like on top of a computer case), the heat will conduct away fast and the device will stay cool to the touch. Claggy |

Using Nativeboinc, a 3rd party BOINC client for Android, many more projects are available including Seti@home. I'll be using your client, since it is more stable than Nativeboinc, but you might want to check compatibility with Seti@home since it DOES work on my phone - Galaxy Note 2. You will be assimilated...bunghole! |

So when I first saw the information, I had downloaded and installed it on my DROID RAZR MAXX HD then I had uninstalled it to troubleshoot something.. The next day I go to download it and the app is not compatible with my device. Looks like a version change overnight?? |

Currently trying to run an Einstein WU on my Samsung Galaxy Ace phone. This phone has very limited internal memory, which seems to be causing problems. Other apps can and do store/run from the SD card which has plenty memory free. If BOINC can be made to store/run from the SD card and not the internal memory it would be a lot better. I will probably try to complete this current WU but will have to uninstall BOINC after due to the memory requirement to run any project. |

From Bikeman (Heinz-Bernd Eggenstein): We had received some reports in the beta test phase that indicated that there might be a general problem with running BOINC on the Droid Razr series, more specifically with their custom UI. So we blocked the app for the Droid Razr to be on the safe side. |

From Bikeman (Heinz-Bernd Eggenstein): This version of BOINC on Android can not use space on an SD card. |

I'm sorry if this has already been asked & answered. When will the iPad app be available? Thanks! |

As far as I know, there won't be one, as anything run on anything made by Apple (outside the Macintosh computers) has to be approved of by Apple (proprietary software) and available through the Apple Store. And even if someone would make a BOINC that runs on iOS, you're not there yet as you'll also need to have the science applications from the projects. They don't necessarily want to invest time and money into making their apps work on the iPad, or anything else iX. |

Thanks. There are so many iPads/iPhones that, in my opinion, it's a pity they are not put to work. The company I work for has 5 Android phones and 200 iPads... Thanks again, Andrei |

Hi, Can You add possibility to change checkpointing frequency? Currently is very high, what is unnecessary and can destructively affect the flash memory lifetime. From similar reason should be added possibility to totally disable client logging, continuous writing data to flash isn't good idea... |

Can You add possibility to change checkpointing frequency? Currently is very high, what is unnecessary and can destructively affect the flash memory lifetime. Checkpointing is a function of the science application, not of the BOINC client. You will have to ask the project application developers about this. From similar reason should be added possibility to totally disable client logging, continuous writing data to flash isn't good idea... I forwarded that question to the BOINC developers. |

I added 2 Sony Ericsson 1ghz phones today. Running WCG on 1 and asteroids on the other. Will Boinc update itself to newer versions when they are available? And will the project list update itself as more projects becomes availabe? I saw you mentioned The skynet pogs as an arm project but it wasn't in the projects list. |
