Hallo, I tried to install the latest boinc manager software on my mac os x (10.3.9)but at says:
'you can not install this softare on this volume (null)'

What dowes it mean and why isn't it working?
I am the only user on this mac and so I have all rights.
There was never before a software I was not able to instll.

Bye the way, the old menubar 5.2.5 (v4) is working perfect when I start it, but I'd prefer to change to the manager, because I read the menubar isn't supported any longer.

Thanks for your hints and help.

I don't know exactly what the problem is, but someone else just reported the same thing on the SETI Help Desk. What seemed to solve it for him was deleting the file /Library/Receipts/BOINC.pkg and running the installer again. (I had advised him to repair permissions, which may or may not have helped as well.)

Thanks for the try to help, but the problem is:

In my '/Library/Receipts/BOINC.pkg'is nothing but a folder from adobe.
Of course I already tried and I did so again to repair the permissions, so everything there should be ok.

Anyway, all ideas are welcome and I thank everybody for them.

Any more ideas?

Maybe it was in (user name)/Library/... instead of (hard drive)/Library/... --or vice versa? I believe that would depend on whether BOINC was installed for a single user only or shared for all users.

Thanks a lot for the help !!!!!!!!

Glad it worked out.
