I recently downloaded BOINC so I could get back into doing SETI @ Home after many years. It says I am connected to the local host but I am unable to attach to the project. I get no error messages other than that I am unable to attach. Could this be an issue of a blocked port? I can't seem to find what ports BOINC uses so I can tell my router to let them pass completely unmolested. If not a port issue, what than? |

I get no error messages other than that I am unable to attach. Ports boinc.exe needs internet access on ports 80 and 443 and local access (127.0.0.1) on ports 1043 and 31416. boincmgr.exe, boinccmd.exe and boinc.scr need local access on ports 1043 and 31416. Note. Boinc V.5.3.x + (Beta test and future versions) no longer uses port 1043 Have you activated your Seti-Classic account or created a new one at the Seti web site? Read the BOINC miniFAQ and/or BOINC Wiki for the procedure activating an account and attaching your computer to a project. Any additional Seti related questions should be posted on the relevant Seti Help Board as there are many people using the Magnus user name and it would make it easier to determine which one is your account.
