Hi,
I seem to have problem with my computer. Everytime I start boinc manager, my computer locks up if i am running Xwindow.
If i start the program from command prompt without Xwindow, I can hear my primary master drive making a clicking noise as if the drive has gone bad. I already switched out a hard drive thinking it had gone bad.
If i kill the software the noise goes away.
I dual boot Windows 98/Linux. I have not tried to run the client in Windows 98 on the same computer. linux is my primary OS.

Here are the stats for computer:

    Athlon XP 2000+
    512MB Ram
    Nvidia 6600GT AGP
    Add-On ATA/133 IDE Card.
    Debian Linux Stable release
    vanila kernel 2.6.16.2

Thank you for your help
