Hello everyone, I'm attempting to get BOINC running on my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian "wheezy" (2013). This has proven to be problematic because I have to setup an ad hoc network through my Macbook for it to connect to our AT&T wireless hotspot. Although I know this would be easily solved by getting a wireless USB adapter, I don't want nor need it to be connected to the internet at all times. What I've done is set up a proxy server on my Macbook to allow the RPi to access the internet. I've individually set up apt and the internet browser to use the proxy server, however my attempts to either set the proxy up system-wide (so that I don't have to change the settings for individual programs) and my attempts to configure BOINC to use the proxy server have been unsuccessful. I know that I can use the following command set the proxy: boinccmd -set_proxy_settings http_server_name http_server_port http_user_name http_user_passwd socks_server_name socks_server_port socks_version socks5_user_name socks5_user_passwd However, I'm confused as to how I'm supposed to use this command if every field is necessary. My proxy server has no user or password. Can anyone elucidate a method to set the proxy settings so I can get BOINC up and running on my Raspberry Pi?[/code] |
