It's back. |

That was a quicky. Sadly Jord won't get to smell the fetid stench of burning hair or the dissonant sound of howling at the moon unless he does it himself. |

Nah, I just shouted for joy because of a pleasant surprise as someone I thought had surely died just PMed me. Thumbs up there. |

Still don't know what your complaint is. What's wrong with the colour scheme? As that's the only thing that changed, and then only on the boxes. The background is still ghostly white. Take a color chill pill. When people work on MAJOR holiday weekends, and it isn't for double overtime, something is wrong. Might be personal problems. Might be deadlines. But it just isn't normal. That's all. |

Gary consider the possibility that DA actually enjoys his work. There is a small subset of the species whose work is also their hobby. |

It is called Labor day, and perhaps DA considers it "a labor of love". :) I only think that the colour is a bit dark and "abrupt" for such a large area. If that is a suitable word for a colour. And It's not as if I look at it everyday. |

Gary consider the possibility that DA actually enjoys his work. There is a small subset of the species whose work is also their hobby. That is generally called a workaholic, and IIRC is in the DSM 5. I was more thinking along the lines of a deadline for a grant submission and him getting bored/tired and deciding to mess with the server to clear his head. That is the kind of unplanned work that often leads to ... . I'm sure the vomit green post reply button is that color as a not so subtle comment on what is thought about the posts. ;-) |

The Reply button has been this green for the past year or so. The colours on the front page can be adjusted with two changes, one per colour, to the CSS file. This can be done from home. And even if it were strange he did it on Labor Day, he wouldn't be the only one 'working': https://www.businessnewsdaily.com/8354-working-labor-day.html (and that's aside from the 'normal' people working, fire brigade, police, EMTs, other helpers, tank stations/stores, religious people, etc.) |

And he fixed a minor bug for me over the weekend. That felt like displacement activity, too: sidetracking from the much more important issues which are still backing up. Like the stalled v7.16.1 release - which was something that David himself was champing at the bit for, months ago. |

As you may notice, Richard's got the moderator title back. Temporarily. Until I'm back from vacation. He's been ordered though to temp ban everyone who howls out of tune, or sets the wrong hair on fire. That you've been warned. :) |

Funny that. The email seems to have gone astray, and my PM inbox is empty. But I've got a little list... ;-) |

Is is because of all these little bugfix commits that keep getting merged that prevents release? Or is something major structurally that is holding things up? Does BOINC use a version freeze timeline like they do in Linux? |

If this is just a practice run for Tuesday when would it be the appropriate time for someone to set their hair on fire and howl at the moon? Since Richard is now the Mod the fetid stench and dissonant sounds may give him pleasure, then again it may not. |

It is time to warm this tread up in anticipation of tomorrow's festivities. We can hope the 10 hr practice session we had yesterday bodes for a shorty. |
