I'm supposed to be peeling potatoes... but okay :)

(and I will also add my thanks to Jord too, for his post. I can't do the social media thing, but I will definitely be sending Fred a card :)

My Set@Home cpu cache is down to its "last dregs" and should be empty within an hour. GPU cache is long gone.

I broke down and turned on World Community Grid to reduce the E@H mix.

If I am reading it right it started Maintenance this morning about 7am my time. Its 3:49pm my time.

My fave place opened some of the special brew before the blast doors had finished closing

So I guess I have to hoist some virtual brew for a while till they get it sorted.

<wind storm damage Monday; Looks like the patio roof yanked the brick wall down at the roof line when it collapsed.>

A picture from last Tuesday's celebration in Lerwick, a breezy place.

And they get it right. The following Wednesday is a public holiday in Lerwick to allow for recovery.

January definitely needs more public holidays I think. And so does Wednesdays.

Who do we get to arrange that...?

You get a job at a NATO training establishment.
As the students are from lots of different countries, all with different public holidays. And so to be fair to all students, if one student is on a national public holiday and would miss a whole days instruction, then all the students and instructors must take the public holiday. Plus in NATO, again to be fair all nations, they each have 12 public holidays per year. Some countries have less than 12 so other days have to be included, like, for the UK, the Queen's official Birthday becomes a public holiday.

This meant while I was in that position, nearly all weeks from Easter until the middle of June had a least one public holiday.

Any idea of opening time this week?

Hmmm, SETI is back up but the servers are having their usual post outage hissy fit. "cannot contact server", "HTTP not available", "Internal HTTP error". Over an hour later and I still haven't been able to report work on my main machines. The 2 smaller rigs have reported AOK but none are getting any new work because of the above ... :(
