And for those in affected time zones, remember to kick your clocks ahead one hour Saturday night or Sunday morning lest you be late on Monday.

Such a twice yearly bother.

Curious question....
Do Berk and the server times observe DST?
In other words, local time here is now an hour ahead.
Has Seti server time also advanced an hour?

Meow?

BOINC servers run on Universal Time Coordinate (UTC), which doesn't change.

What about things such as this link, which is using local time?
That's not UTC, as the stats dumps are done during the day.

You make it sound as if UTC cannot possibly be doing anything during the day. Or that the server cannot do anything during the night. It's just a time. The zero meridian.

Jord...
I understand UTC. I have a UTC clock on my desktop at all times.
What I am asking is whether that stats dump time has remained the same offset from UTC, or since it is reporting in terms of local time, has the offset changed due to DST?
AFAIK, the stats dumps have always been generated during the day, 11:46AM local time, not at 11:46UTC.

I assume that anything that doesn't say it's UTC is local time wherever the project's offices are located, and that it changes to DST when/if that local time does.

I believe most of Europe changes in another three weeks.

Indeed Sunday the 29th March, 1am GMT becomes 2am BST here in the UK

Also most of Europe does the same on the same day.

Should we send out a search party?

Is the late start of the outrage going to mean a late end to it?

Interestingly, the Crickets have only dropped by about half, instead of the usual almost down to nothing. Furthermore, and possibly related to the above, the blue line has remained at its elevated level, which appears to correspond to that of the green on the lab's Cricket.

The Doctor has finally arrived!!! :-)

Been dealing with defective cell phones again... As posted in LPTPW at SETI, my second i-Phone 5C had gone defective and wouldn't power on. I had to go to the Apple Store, (instead of dealing with Verizon, my carrier), and got yet a third i-Phone 5C. I wanted a 4S, because they are more stable in my opinion; but, they wouldn't give me a 4S. So, I'm on my third 5C.

The first one, after several IOS updates, corrupted its software and then if you powered it to "Off", then "On", it would refuse to use my purchased ringtone as default; instead using the Apple Default ringtone. No matter how the phone was reset, it refused to hold my ringtone. Hence first replacement/second phone. Now, second phone, within 30 days of having it, refuses to power on. Now, as stated, on third 5C... AppleCare still has to walk me through another session of recovering my photos, (which presently are on my computer), due to the corrupted software of the first phone, they couldn't be recovered from i-Cloud... Can you say FRUSTRATING!!!???!!!

The AppleCare specialist is due to call me at 2 PM - PDT, today. Hopefully, there will be no issues copying my photos from the computer to the third/new 5C. Wish me luck... :-/
