Message 55050 - Posted: 24 Jul 2014, 17:00:33 UTC - in response to Message 55028.

Noonish, here.

I think I'm going to have to set a word length limit on my Jumble game. People are picking long, obscure words. I wanted the game to go a little faster.

This outage reminds me of when I worked at an ISP, and I accidentally unplugged their server. Oops.

Hope everyone is ok.

I think we've discovered who the cleaner at the Seti lab was :)

Actually, they went out of business, shortly after that. The owner went into worm farming.

:))))))) SNORT stop *weak gasp* you're making my tummy hurt!
So it was a life-changing event for him then....... :)

Well, there were no hard feelings. He tried to get me into the worm business with him, but it just didn't appeal to me, and I probably would have let the little red wigglers escape, anyway.

*creak* *puff* *groan* CRASH!!

please... make it go away... :)

Let's talk about worms instead! :) My other half used to try to sneak into the garden to dig them up. His plan? Spear them with a hook to beguile fish into impaling themselves on it... *growl* he thought I'd find it more acceptable than the tubs of maggots he used to put in the fridge without closing the lids on them first... all the colours of the rainbow they were... still have dye trails where they went walkabout all over the shelves...

he learned :)

Ha! :) An ex's Dad was an avid fisherman. I lost count the number of times going into the fridge for the milk when brewing up, only to discover they'd done a great escape :)

I've got 26 APs left to crunch. I'll make it through this outrage.

I have a bunch of MB's that are being crunched at the same time that Einstein is being crunched. (Two SETI, one Einstein at a time...) At 20 to 30 Min. per SETI MB, I have enough to get me through. (Also have a couple of AP's; but, I go through them in about 40-50 Min. each.)

When I checked early this morning, the kitties had stocked up pretty well on AP work for the GPUs, so I don't think their kibble bowls shall be running dry unless things go awry with the electrical work or subsequent server restart.

I'll be at work (another 12 hour shift) while things get sorted and hopefully all is quite settled by the time I get home.

Hi ho, hi ho....you know the rest.

Meow for now.

My old business associate was going to sell the worms to landfill sites. I don't know if that worked out. He also tried to get into strawberry farming, and we planted a nice field, only to have a huge storm open up that afternoon that flooded everything, along with golf ball size hail that destroyed our work.

That was fast, the project is back again :-)
Didn't take the whole day as they said.

And so it is...shall take a bit to get things flowing again, but the power is back.
The electricians must have had all their ducks in a row, as the saying goes.
That makes me feel a bit better heading off to work.

I'm busy cleaning out two rooms, including my computer room. Going to put new vinyl flooring down, a must after 14 years of the same stuff. There's holes in the vinyl of the computer room. So y'all have to entertain yourselves, as I can't do that from this phone.

Ah, welcome to the moth to the flame thread ... :)

If they started late, does that mean they end late?
