It's fun to see all the SETI@home project members to move the center of gravity of discussion right here ! ;) Hi all ! :) |

Not to spoil all the drinking and fun and eveything, but I just looked at the Seti Cricket graph and IT'S ALIVE! <maniacal laugh suppressed> Have some of the servers come back online, or has that graph been reassigned to something else? signature |

Did you read the figures, as well as looking at the pretty pictures? During normal running, the top figure om the Y- (left hand vertical) axis is 100 Megabits, and we use ~93% of that. Currently, the axis is scaled to 400 bits, and 93% of 400 bits is about three hours per WU. So 8 WUs per day, per world (and that's MB - I'll leave somebody else to work out the AP rate). Back to the beer... |

At that rate all the TCP echo packets the routers send out to discover the network topology must be 100% of the traffic. No room for a single AP work unit on that busy network ... |

Yes, I noticed the scale was different, but I didn't realize it was THAT small. Meanwhile, I was wondering why one of my crunchers wasn't doing any Einstein, so I checked it and discovered I had it set to NNT for Einstein. I let it get 31 tasks (about 2 days' worth) and then put it back on NNT so Seti can keep up when it comes back. Back to my cough syrup. (Except I'm out of it.) signature |

Oh I'm good at predictions! Home page and SSP is back :-) Ahh... Some very positive signs there! Hope we are back in the saddle by tomorrow morning. The house is a bit cool and the kitties are padding around sniffing for their Seti work. |

Ah, life. At least most of the gear must have survived the trip. |

And another guess, is that this is where they relocated: That building looks very similar to Warren Hall, 2195 Hearst Avenue (Google Street View) - the home of IST. |

And another guess, is that this is where they relocated: Hmmm... The Triple Rock Brewery and Alehouse and Oscar's Hotdogs are just down the street. Just the thing if the guys have to make an occasional visit to massage the servers. EDIT... And the SSP is looking greener and greener. If things keep progressing at this rate, the boyz may be able to visit the Alehouse sooner than expected. |

And another guess, is that this is where they relocated: It's the first place I've visited in Street View that has cycling directions. 14 minutes down the hill from the lab (if you go the steep way), 48 minutes to get back up. |

You had better not give too detailed directions in case ALL the SETI crunchers suddenly turn up on the doorstep and they haven't got enough cups to give everybody a coffee. |

Mark forgot to mention that Berkeley Espresso is between the Alehouse and the Hotdogs. I don't think we'll go short of coffee. |
