Didn't get a choice. Booted up laptop earlier in the week. Took 10 minutes to boot, just got a black screen, While making a cuppa, heard it ding. Checked winver... ...22h2. Laptop now slower than a snail. It's only 3 months old & hardly used. :-( |

I have heard that the new 22H2 version can again not handle the newer AMD 7000 series CPUs. Luckily I am still on my 3900X. Haven't even changed to the 5950X yet that has been catching dust the past year. Edit: that was the quickest update ever. The Cumulative Update before it took longer. This was just download, reboot and log in. 22H2, installed on 15 June 2021. Yeah, that's about right. |

Second system updated quite rapidly as well and after a reboot had a weather thing on the task bar. "News and interests shows you weather, news and other information at a glance on your taskbar." No. Go away. Why? |

I did update to Win11 on my daily driver after I enabled the firmware TPM. Seems to be working. All my day-to-day boinc crunching is running under Ubuntu 20.x.x whatever. Yet another I can do windows better than windows showed up in my news feed. I think it said linuxfx ? Tag. Your "it". |

@ JORD Hahaha needed that laff, thanks! SETI slumbering has left a ripple effect through the BOINC ecosystem it seems, I have been in hiBEERnation for some time myself but this takes the enchilada OT GPUGrid still cannot get into my account causa password probs, emails no reponse. Drat and crikey! |
