Just a tidbit of information. or something The version on boinc manager which I'm using on this pc is 6.12.34 (x64) and the os is Windows 7 64bit with all the available updates, it's 12/12/2012 funny, eh. Any newer versions of boinc won't work on this system, believe you me, I've tried. what else should i tell you, ah yes. System specs: this is eMachines ET1852 which probably doesn't tell you much, but this will.. Pentium Dual-Care cPU E6700@3,2GHz 4Gt of memory Nvidia Geforce GT 640 Any HD information I could give you is such a jumble of information, because it woudn't give you like me any heads or tails of information of it, but that there is 1TB of it. Well the main point is that the recommended version version won't work and probably and development version I didn't even try... funny things is that when the boinc is working, it works as if there is three threads, three processes, with two cores. My other computer is a UberLinu Original Made by me from individual parts, :) running Windows 7 64bit as well. The motherboard is Ga-a75-ud4h, processor is AMD A8-3870 APU Black Edition @3GHz, 16Gt memory and over 1,6Tb of space. With additional AMD Radeon HD 6670 which I've yet been unable to add to the APU's functionality with dual-link. This one runs the 7.0.28 64bit version of boinc manager with no problem at all, all four threads in full action, and goes to show what I've always said.... that AMD is superior compared to Intel. ;D Oh yeah... I've been running Einstein@home |

Thanks for sharing that. Opinions/Experiences on what works for whom may differ. All 7.0.xx clients I've tested and or run in production do perfectly fine, and they are all running on Intel, either W7-64 or Linux-64. cheers |

Any newer versions of boinc won't work on this system, believe you me, I've tried. So what, if any, is the error message that you get? Or else please define what you mean with "won't work". Does it not start up? Does it not fetch work? Does it not run any work? |
