Hi, I was wondering if you are familiar with a Vancouver, Canada computing company called D Wave. It could present a major disruptive force in the World of high speed/performance computing. This leads me to believe it could affect Boinc in the future. Here are links to the website and an M.I.T. Technology Review article. I hope to hear your opinions about this company that has intrigued the U.S. C.I.A., Google, Amazon and Lockheed Martin to invest in it.

For a while, they ran a BOINC project called AQUA@home, and helped with testing the infrastructure for multi-threaded CPU applications. They also tried GPU computing, both cuda (which ran in production mode for a while) and OpenCL (which never made it off the test bench).

They shut down the BOINC side of their operations in about July 2011.

Interesting. Do you think this company will ever live up to its explosive potential?
