Hi, I was wondering if you are familiar with a Vancouver, Canada computing company called D Wave. It could present a major disruptive force in the World of high speed/performance computing. This leads me to believe it could affect Boinc in the future. Here are links to the website and an M.I.T. Technology Review article. I hope to hear your opinions about this company that has intrigued the U.S. C.I.A., Google, Amazon and Lockheed Martin to invest in it. http://www.technologyreview.com/news/429429/the-cia-and-jeff-bezos-bet-on-quantum-computing/ http://www.dwavesys.com http://blogs.nature.com/news/2012/08/d-wave-quantum-computer-solves-protein-folding-problem.html |

For a while, they ran a BOINC project called AQUA@home, and helped with testing the infrastructure for multi-threaded CPU applications. They also tried GPU computing, both cuda (which ran in production mode for a while) and OpenCL (which never made it off the test bench). They shut down the BOINC side of their operations in about July 2011. |

Interesting. Do you think this company will ever live up to its explosive potential? |
