Hi all, I know Threadmaster is not Boinc, but where-else could I ask? I have been using Threadmaster to limit my Labtop to 30% for various Projects, and it worked fine. Since some days these tasks use up again 99%, the vent is running permanently (which I do not like at all) and therefore I stoped running Boinc. Threadmaster and Boinc are both in the "Autostart", my user-account has no administration rights. I merged again the data into registry (using the administrator account), checked the correct values, all according to the provided readme.txt and as it was running previously. Any experience on that? Any ideas? |

Make sure that the ThreadMaster settings in the registry includes all current project applications. It's possible that a project (or more than one) is running an application that's been released since you configured ThreadMaster. Thank you for your reply. In the meantime I found this thread: "http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=605" discussing a similar problem. I used that .reg file (with my seti file) under the admin account and it worked right away. Surprisingly it did not work under my user-account (no admin rights) yesterday, though the PC was restarted a couple of times. Even more surprisingly it worked today without problems. Though I do not understand the issue completely I am happy with the current status and think the problem is solved (knocking on wood). For your interest, some of my ideas, why it did not work before: a) conflict with my WLAN drivers (now turned off at system boot up) b) BOINC was in the autostart menu, now I am waiting until all drivers are nicely loaded and the system is idle for some seconds before I start BOINC. |
