By the way, new mac today, no time machine backup, restoration or anything to do with BOINC. So NO UPGRADE.

I get exactly this error:

"You currently are not authorized to manage the client.

To run BOINC as this user, please:
- reinstall BOINC answering "Yes" to the question about non-administrative users
or
- contact your administrator to add you to the 'boinc_master' user group.

I'm running Mac OS 10.8.2 on a mac mini.
The boinc version is 7.0.31

I have NO SPACES in my username or my /Users/username path (I manually changed it during install to be better compatible with linux)

Logs pasted below.

Fix was easy. Add a group using the mac user manager under system preferences, click the + button, change the drop down box to group, add the group 'boinc_master' add yourself to that group (I am admin so you may also need to be that) uninstall BOINC. Reinstall BOINC. Reboot. All done.

It is interesting to note that again, the official installed did NOT PROMPT WHATSOEVER for admin privileges or mention anything about the boinc_master group.
