so i have an idea for the BOINC manager, what if you could right click on a certain tab(with tab i mean for example: statistics, tasks, projects) then you get a menu where you can choose to open it in a new window |

That would conflict with the rule that only one BOINC Manager is allowed to be opened per connected host, local or remote. The only window that opens separately is the Event Log from the Advanced menu. --//-- edit: in passed multiple BM's connected from 1 host gave conflicts, but don't know if that is the underlying reason why the function was blocked. |

The only window that opens separately is the Event Log from the Advanced menu. Exactly that is my problem: I recently updated from 6.10.18 to 7.0.28 and miss the "event log" as a part of the main window. Is there any way to prevent the log to open in a separate window?! Thank you for letting me bother you with my problems! Greetings from Germany.. |

I don't think there's any way of preventing the Event Log from opening in a separate window except reverting to an earlier version of BOINC. But I wouldn't advise that as I've read that reverting from v.7 to v.6 can be tricky. Many BOINC members were opposed to this change but having a separate window for the Event Log isn't so bad when you get used to it. I believe David Anderson wanted to keep it out of view of new BOINC crunchers who wouldn't understand a lot of the messages. |
