Hi,
I'm running Boinc 6.12.35 on Mac OS X 10.7.3 running on 2 Quad-Core Intel Xeons, which by virtue of hyperthreading appear as 16 CPUs (see http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/show_host_detail.php?hostid=314357 ). I have limited boinc to 8 CPUs, but apparently that limitation is not communicated to all projects. I keep on downloading 16-CPU jobs from milkyway@home, e.g. http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=129180101 which will then never run. I have not changed these settings recently.

Is this a boinc bug, or an application bug?

Peter

As far as I can see, neither. It's something the server should stop, the scheduler. But definitely a project problem. However, you can go to the Milkyway project preferences, edit those and then opt out of the MilkyWay@Home N-Body Simulation. This is the multi-threaded application that's giving you those problems. Save changes to the web site, then update BOINC to let it know about the changed preferences.
