What does that mean? Everything seems to be running fine. |

Your BOINC is unable to make contact with the project it is trying to contact, either due to it being down, or due to your computer or ISP having domain name service (DNS) trouble. It is therefore not able to resolve the host name, or legible address, of the server you're trying to reach. |

If everything seems to be running fine (the website keeps updating my progress like it always has), why tell me something that isn't relevant (and with no remark as to how to fix it or what to check)? |

My crystal ball's batteries are empty, while my hacking skills suck, so I can't hack into the CCTV camera across the road from you, or any NIA satellite that can zoom in far enough, so I can squint over your shoulder and see what you see. Do see http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=5925 for some handy hints when asking for help around here. And well, if you don't care to do so, then why should we care to try to help you? |

Now it says "HTTP error." The shortest of that type is "http error 0", and continues to persist for proxy users at WCG since version 6.12.34 through present testing version 7.0.18. Reconfirmed that 6.12.33 and earlier work fine, so what changed? The shoulder viewing does not need hi tech hacking, just a point to this thread: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,31757_offset,0 where at least the company's Bluecoat proxySG is identified as causing this, and TOR/polipo for those maximizing anonymous internetting... did write in that thread to have posted in the a-mail list on this, no tract ticket traced/traceable. --//-- |
