Mac OS X 10.7.2
2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
BOINC 6.12.35 (x86)

I've got a process that won't die!

Activity Monitor shows [hadam3p_saf_6.09_i686-apple-darwin] is using anywhere from 175% to 200% of CPU, mostly in the 198% - 200% range. BOINC as its own processes (there are at least two) is never running more than 0.1% of CPU. When I put BOINC on Snooze or I completely quit out of it [hadam3p_saf_6.09_i686-apple-darwin] continues to run at or around 200% of CPU.

My preferences for CPU usage in BOINC are set for the program to not use more than 80% of the processors. What gives? I'm all for contributing spare processor time to the cause(s), but not so much for surrendering all of my CPU's capacity when I otherwise need to make use of it.

Problems with project science applications, which this is, are best asked at the project's forums. In this case the CPDN boards. Their developers are available there to answer any question you have.
