I have BOINC running on my work desktop running 64 bit Windows 7 Enterprise. There must be some hot key sequence that brings up the manager window, and then when it does, I can't get rid of the window, even by killing the BOINC process. Anyone else seen this? How do I disable the hot key? HOw do I make the windows go away? |

Why should killing the BOINC process close the BOINC manager window? That are two separate processes (boinc.exe/boincmgr.exe). And which BOINC version are you running? (And please don't say 'the newest' ;-) Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

You are right. Killing boincmgr.exe closed the dead, unresponsive window. I am still curious what keys I am hitting that cause the window to come up and then become unresponsive. |

It is presumed the BM is minimized to systray, not the startbar. There's no shortcut unless you've set one on the shortcut, but also possible is the BM loosing connection to the core client causing weird behavior on the part of the BM. Unresponsive BM's could be caused by very large task caches or security software not liking the constant RPC connecting on port 31416 via the localhost IP. BOINC installed with protected application execution aka service and "Allow all users"? --//-- |
