Because of the way that I run my systems, 24 hours / day on weekends only, I have "Maintain additional tasks to keep busy for up to" set to a fractional setting of 0.01 days. BOINC totally ignores this, and I frequently get too much work so that I end up missing deadlines, unless I override and tell BOINC not to get tasks for projects. What is the proper usage of this setting? Thanks. ![]() |

And which project typically misses deadlines? Edit - if you're going to get to the bottom of this particular problem (and the somewhat related one you're discussing in an adjacent thread), you're going to need to do a bit of research. And without that research, you won't be sure if BOINC is working the way the developers intended. In particular, pay attention to how much work BOINC (on your computer) asks for, and to how much work BOINC (on the project server) sends you in response. If there is a problem, it could be in either of those places. |
