Can you copy the exact text printed right hand bottom of the BOINC Manager? Mine says "Connected to localhost (6.12.33)". --//-- |

Plz copy starting at the top all lines from the message/event log so we can see what BOINC is 'thinking'. Are there projects listed under the project tab? None have "Won't get new tasks" (in Spanish I'm guessing)? If there's not, select a project, then hit "Update" button in left margin. If no work is fetched, add new event log entries to a reply. --//-- |

Hi Maria, If you could attempt to answer the questions previously asked we will get a long way. When BOINC Manager is open in advance view, what client version is listed right bottom? Mine is 6.12.33. Please click the Projects tab [second screenshot], and tell if you've already selected any projects through the "add project or account manager" option on the Tools menu? Let us know as that is the first step to do after a successful installation. --//-- edit: fixed closing "/" missing in first end [url] |

Hi, to awnser your first question... my client manager version it's: 6.10.58 its running on a debian squeeze. What i'm realy triying to do it's to get my boinc-server wich I just compiled is to send some tasks to my client-manager. I'm using the "uppercase" aplication wich comes with boinc-server sources for my first aplication!!! When I did finish the boinc-server compiling and set all the project variables... I check the project.xml file to set the "uppercase" API for my first task....: #vi project.xml then I: #bin/xadd #cp /root/boinc/samples/example_app/uc2 /var/tmp/boinc/boinctest/apps/uppercase/uppercase_1.0_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh chown root:boincadm /var/tmp/boinc/boinctest/apps/uppercase/uppercase_i686-pc-linux-gnu #chmod 770 apps/uppercase #PYTHONPATH=/root/boinc/py bin/update_versions #bin/start and when all that was done I add the: http://150.186.92.236/boinctest to my client-manager, at that point I was hoping to see some action!!! but in fact log view of my client-manager only says: Requesting new tasks Scheduler request completed:got 0 new tasks Messeaged from server:Project has no tasks available I hope this gives you any clues.... Maria. |

Ah, now am getting it.... setting up a project of your own. This query has probably better placement in the Server programs forum. The mods will move it in case they concur. Sure then there will be someone expert/competent in the field come out and offer help. Good luck --//-- |
