So BOINC has always worked fine on my system. Now when I run BOINC, it slows my system down so much I have to reboot. When I look in the task manager, BOINC is using way over 1 million in memory usage for just one task. Disabling GPU usage has no effect on this slowdown. I updated BOINC to the newest version, but that had no effect. My system: Quad Core 2. Windows Vista, 4 Meg RAM, Nvidia GTS 250. All the drivers are up to date, I did a scan disk and defrag. Did a virus scan, but I still get this system slowdown. Any ideas? |

Which project or projects do you run? With which project's science application do you see this? Have you complained about this on the project's forums, since it's their application? Which version number of BOINC do you use? The "latest" can mean: The latest recommended BOINC is 6.12.34. The latest 6.12 BOINC is 6.12.41. The latest test BOINC is 7.0.11. |
