I've been running BOINC on various projects for several years now, and yesterday I tried to upgrade from 6.10.56 (I think) to 6.12.34. The install process appears to proceed and then it stops with a dialog asking me to insert a 'BOINC' disc (looking for BOINC.msi, I think). Of course, I don't have any such disk, and I get an 'Error 1706' when I cancel. I tried to perform an uninstall, but I get the same message asking for a disk. I did a search for 'BOINC.msi' and found two instances. The installer tells me that neither is a valid installation package. Now I can't run BOINC or install or uninstall it. Can someone please help? Thanks, Pat Forgot to specify, I'm running Windows XP, all the latest updates. |

Thanks for the pointer to the FAQ, Ageless. I had searched the FAQ but missed that. Everything is running now. Pat |
