Hello all :)
My problem is that the manager writes "Connecting to localhost" and stays in that state, no errors, but nothing else happens either. Been digging through the forums, nothing seems to work :( Previously on Debian-Lenny everything was okay
I tried three versions, the stable 6.10, the downloaded 6.12 and the testing 7.0.2 with the same result, so it doesn't depend on the program I think and might be depending on network configuration,
Wondering if anyone'd had this experience and how to actually make it work :)
thanks in advance,
Alex

Solved! :)

I actually tried three versions, 6.10, the downloaded 6.12 and the testing 7.0.2, with the same effect,
so I figured that it was some kind of networking issue.

1) Added to the /etc/network/interfaces file the line

iface lo inet loopback

2) The step that DID solve it,... I noticed it by chance, that mpd said "can't lookup host name "localhost" at boot,

so I edited the /etc/hosts file, it had
#<ip-address> <hostname.domain.org> <hostname>
127.0.0.1 cronos.domain cronos

I added there
127.0.0.1 localhost

so it didn't work, because it has the networking id but no hostname yet, so I made it look like

127.0.0.1 localhost localhost

and rebooted,
which brought me to finally connecting to the client :-)

And Thank you for the reply :)
