I just changed my network setting from a public network to a home network to see if that made a difference but BOINC Manager still says its downloading data like it has for the last hour or longer.

Could it be Windows Firewall?

If so, why doesn't BOINC show up on the list of programs I can allow through it?

I gave this software up years ago because it was very glitchy, I can already feel my patience wearing thin again...

The problem seems to have resolved itself but man do I ever long for the old days when a simple download progress bar told you exactly how much data was being downloaded without having to dig through all these windows.

I guess progress doesn't only go forward, when it comes to simplicity and ease of use, that is.

Seti as been having various server and internet connection problems. The place to learn more about these issues is at the Seti Number Crunching forum. These aren't related to the Boinc software.
