I have a Windows 7 box with a GeForce GT 9800 GPU. I was running BOINC with GPUGRID since May without problems. Today, I uninstalled and reinstaled BOINC (latest version), and specified to run BOINC as a service. Since then, BOINC cannot find my GPU, and gives me the usual "no usable GPUs found" message in the activity log. I tried updating my GPU drivers to the latest version (280.26), just in-case, but it didn't help. What's going on? You probably did a 'protected application execution' install, uninstall Boinc, and reinstall without that option ticked, Claggy |

It's not possible to run a GPU when using protected application mode? |

Not with windows 7. XP was the last windows version to support GPUs with PAE (service mode). Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

I'm surprised, because the thread I found mentions delaying starting the service in W7. But the FAQ clears this up pretty well. Cheers! |
