For years I have been running various projects under BOINC using Windows XP. I recently switched to Windows 7 (64 bit) and took the opportunity to install a larger drive. Once Windows 7 was up and running, I downloaded BOINC (64bit) and pasted my "account_xml" files (which I had copied earlier) into the BOINC folder. Nothing, however, is running so clearly I have not done enough. Do I still need to attach (reattach?) the individual projects as well? Anything else? Any advice welcome. Thanks. |

...pasted my "account_xml" files (which I had copied earlier) into the BOINC folder... Into the BOINC data folder or the BOINC program folder? A look at your BOINC startup messages (BOINC event log) might help. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

[quote]...pasted my "account_xml" files (which I had copied earlier) into the BOINC folder... Into the BOINC data folder or the BOINC program folder? I pasted into the BOINC folder in "Program Files". Within the BOINC folder there is one other subfolder called "locale". I don't seem to have a data folder. Nor are there there any start messages - just says "No notices at this time". |

Correction to my last post - I wasn't looking at the event log. The event log says I am not attached to any projects. Does this mean that I have the "account_xml" files in the wrong place? |

...pasted my "account_xml" files (which I had copied earlier) into the BOINC folder... All the project related files go in the Boinc Data directory, the location of which is posted in your Boinc startup messages, it'll be a hidden folder too, Claggy |

Yes, that was the problem. I moved my "account_xml" files to the BOINC Data folder (which, as suggested, was hidden) and everything seems to be up and running again. Many thanks to all those who contributed. |
