Just installed BOINC on my brand new HP laptop with Windows 7-64. BOINC runs fine, but when the screensaver runs I can not go back to my desktop without doing a ctrl-alt-del. Tried a couple other screensavers and Windows resumes just fine from them. Tried reinstalling making sure it was 64 bit, but so far using mouse or keyboard does not kick BOINC screensaver out. Message says BOINC is shutting down and a couple different screens flash up, but does not resume Windows. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. konocwa |

One "workaround" would be not to use the BOINC screensaver then. ;-) Can you find any hints in the various stderr/stdout files in the BOINC data directory? Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

BOINC uses a small program to check for computer-idleness. This program is called boinctray.exe on Windows and needs to be running at all times to have effect. It's only started when you boot into Windows, no when you start BOINC Manager or the client. This program is also used by BOINC to check for end-of-idleness. So check that it's running, and if not, start it from the BOINC programs directory. |
